Sct x4 tuner 6.4 powerstroke dpf delete12/31/2023 I just don't like the idea of removing the coolers until you can replace the up pipes. The egr valve/system being deleted isn't going to cause a blown head gasket or cracked heads. Our trucks have back pressure issues because of the vgt turbo setup and a number of other reasons. I just can't see why shops are telling people not to delete the egrs on 6.0s and 6.4.s. But if you like noise and speed or do a lot of hard towing then i can see it being a problem. Obviously this all depends on how you drive the thing, if you are like me then it really isn't a concern. But there are so many larger concerns when you look at the egr system on a diesel these days. I get the back pressure concern considering the valve is used as a make shift blow off valve or waste gate by the pcm(still don't get why they didn't just add a damn waste gate). I have had quite a few egr delete questions lately and they all seem to stem from mechanics telling them not to delete. Good point Toren, having the blocking plates also makes it so that there is no possibility of coolant ending up where it shouldn't be. Thanks for any answers and any advice as which mods increase MPG the greatest! I understand that doing so without a tuner would throw a CEL but that my tuner will get rid of that, please correct me if I'm wrong.ġ) Where are the orange plugs located so that I can unplug them (if this is even necessary)?Ģ) Which of the two deletes should I have done first if I want to maximize MPG?ģ) When I finally do delete the DPF/CAT, what pipe do y'all recommend if I want to straight pipe it from front of CAT to the back of the DPF? However, I'm thinking about unplugging the EGR just to be sure it's actually disabled. I know I can disable the EGR Valve with the canned tunes. I want to get the best MPG possible out of the truck while prolonging life. I am planning on deleting the DPF/CAT once I get to my final destination. I have the Edge CTS2 Monitor, dfuser block off plates, and the SCT X4 tuner. I'm on a time crunch because I'm leaving this weekend for a 3500 mi.
